克里夫蘭印地安人隊打進美聯冠軍戰，當地一間旅館就貼出「小心小黑蟲」的告示，並且再次消費了2007年洋基隊在季後賽跟印地安人隊的比賽，當時的投手是Joba Chamberlain。

2007年洋基隊跟印地安人進行美聯分區系列賽，洋基隊投手Joba Chamberlain被這些小黑蚊搞到不能投球，暴投連連不說，還頻頻送出保送，最後也丟了追平分，印地安人最終就靠小蟲贏得系列賽。

飯店把這樣的例子寫在告示上，並強調關緊窗戶的重要性。

這些小黑蟲叫做「midges」，每年這個季節，就會聚集在湖邊，並且干擾你一切行動。
